After the first half Peru were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

With an all-out effort, Peru's Guilherme Veiga threw himself towards the right post 54 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eliseo Mina, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. With a little luck, Racing Miami Futbol Club's Guilherme Veiga got control of the ball when Julian Murillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. 72 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Trey Echols came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chance Adams in the 93rd minute of the match. Joaquin Prats hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. After 96 played minutes, Racing Miami Futbol Club's Chance Adams shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rolando Noboa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Racing Miami Futbol Club reached it. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Peru eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
