The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Anibal Lluques in the 84th minute of play forced Bagni's goalkeeper Arturo Tosi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Q. T. I. defense, Frank Pagliuca kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paulo Txatxu. The Q. T. I. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paulo Txatxu should have stopped the shot. 89 minutes into the match, Bagni's goal looked a bit too open when Anibal Lluques came free, but Arturo Tosi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Casimiro Guillelmus could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Arturo Tosi made a huge save. Frank Pagliuca blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Paulo Txatxu having to make a save. 94 minutes into the game, Bagni's Frank Pagliuca nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Paulo Txatxu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Bagni fans cheered their team off the field, for while Q. T. I. had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
