Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Arkhip Ilyin ran over to the corner to take the kick. Deng Wei Lin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. Leonides Lehoi kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 20 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Daniel Zorita sped through chacarita juniors's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Adriano Pappalardo. With an all-out effort, chacarita juniors's Julio Vera threw himself towards the right post 28 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Osvaldo Ospin, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Deng Wei Lin in the 30thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julio Vera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Adriano Pappalardo. Adriano Pappalardo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Deng Wei Lin in the 38th minute of the match. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Osvaldo Ospin in the 43rd minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Adriano Pappalardo in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Osvaldo Ospin in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Antonio Arias got a free kick in the 81st minute. chacarita juniors made a substitution. Kacper Trochowski replaced Deng Wei Lin. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kacper Trochowski in the 84th minute of play. Adriano Pappalardo made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Agustín Saelices sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kacper Trochowski in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. After a rather tough play, chacarita juniors's Inocencio Cristos got a free kick in the 91st minute. In the 92nd minute, Agustín Saelices got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Adriano Pappalardo in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ecuador played a much better game than chacarita juniors and deserved their victory. The chacarita juniors players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
