Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off. Hugo Orlando Gatti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 6 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Erubiel Urtats. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erubiel Urtats in the 8th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 9 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Clemente Cordera was slow to take the kick. During this time ☣ ☠ Ᏸɭนę Gђ๏ຮϮຮ ☠ ☣'s players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on ☣ ☠ Ᏸɭนę Gђ๏ຮϮຮ ☠ ☣'s corner Clemente Cordera fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. Froilan Hulberto hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera was out of position in the 20 minute of play, and Erubiel Urtats capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Erubiel Urtats really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. After having played for 24 minutes, Clemente Cordera managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ☣ ☠ Ᏸɭนę Gђ๏ຮϮຮ ☠ ☣'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Clemente Cordera was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 26 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Arias. 29 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Erubiel Urtats. Hugo Orlando Gatti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 38th minute of play forced ☣ ☠ Ᏸɭนę Gђ๏ຮϮຮ ☠ ☣'s goalkeeper Hugo Orlando Gatti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 45th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Orlando Gatti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jerzy Brack kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Erubiel Urtats made a kick off. In the 54th minute, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Antonio Arias kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. ☣ ☠ Ᏸɭนę Gђ๏ຮϮຮ ☠ ☣'s Klas Bergqvist was substituted for Erubiel Urtats. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Antonio Arias got a free kick in the 58th minute. Klas Bergqvist scored 2-1 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Clemente Cordera took the corner. The corner ended in 洪国云 almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. After having played for 66 minutes, Guillermo Monclús managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ☣ ☠ Ᏸɭนę Gђ๏ຮϮຮ ☠ ☣'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Guillermo Monclús was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. ☣ ☠ Ᏸɭนę Gђ๏ຮϮຮ ☠ ☣'s Erasmo Baleren was substituted for Braulio Astudillo. After 77 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Felix Montes. Klas Bergqvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 85 minutes of play, ☣ ☠ Ᏸɭนę Gђ๏ຮϮຮ ☠ ☣'s Guillermo Monclús made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guillermo Monclús in the 88th minute of play. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Klas Bergqvist in the 94th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Guillermo Monclús in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. ☣ ☠ Ᏸɭนę Gђ๏ຮϮຮ ☠ ☣'s supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
