Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Martin Palermo kicked off to start the match. In the 5th minute, La Candela FC's Martin Palermo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. La Candela FC's Nahuel Molina managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Guillermo Mariano in the 9 minute of the game. The supporters of Venezuela booed when La Candela FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodolfo Arruabarrena didn't get a good kick on the ball. Martin Palermo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant was a little too slow when Martin Palermo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 14th minute. The score was now 2-0. The supporters of La Candela FC booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guillermo Mariano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 18th minute, Venezuela's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Martin Palermo fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 19 minutes into the game, Miguel Nicolau was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. La Candela FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. In the 19th minute, Miguel Nicolau hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The corner led to La Candela FC's Walter Samuel getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. After 28 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Alex Chicote. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by La Candela FC's Martin Palermo. But to his dismay, Martin Palermo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Martin Palermo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. La Candela FC's Rodolfo Arruabarrena quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Alex Chicote, made in the 46th minute of the game. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Illescas to strike the kick off in the second half. Joshua Secada hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. A sloppy throw-in by Alex Chicote in the 65th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by La Candela FC's Roberto Rogel. 67 minutes into the match, Martin Palermo notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. La Candela FC's Cristian Medina was substituted for Sebastián Battaglia. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Martin Palermo in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. After 77 played minutes La Candela FC got a freekick which was hit by Roberto Rogel. After 79 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. In the 80th match minute, La Candela FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martin Palermo to maneuver through the defense. Martin Palermo took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. The La Candela FC fans' excitement grew in the 94th match minute when La Candela FC's Martin Palermo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 8-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. There was no doubt that La Candela FC were the better team. La Candela FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
