Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Tomas Illescas started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Sydney FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guy Rothe didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuel Ogășanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Patricio Costa struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Sebastian Titz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. If Önder Cebi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Guy Rothe in the 18th minute. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Angelo Milanese sent off a good shot on target. 25 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emanuel Ogășanu. In the 27th minute of the match, Emanuel Ogășanu got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jonathan Ferrant was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Emanuel Ogășanu put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Emanuel Ogășanu's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Emanuel Ogășanu helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Sydney FC getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Emanuel Ogășanu hit a great ball. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With his leg Jonathan Ferrant managed to avoid a goal in the 40thth minute, when Sydney FC's Emanuel Ogășanu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Emanuel Ogășanu sent off a good shot on target. 46 minutes into the match, Ludwig Hanstein had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ludwig Hanstein was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Emanuel Ogășanu scored 4-0 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Adam Daller sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sydney FC's Sebastian Titz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 63rd minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by Sydney FC's Emanuel Ogășanu. But to his dismay, Emanuel Ogășanu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Sebastian Titz made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a free kick in the 76th minute. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ludwig Hanstein in the 78th minute of the match. If Önder Cebi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match clock showed 88 minutes, the score became 8-0 when Emanuel Ogășanu sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. When the match had gone on for 93 minutes, Emanuel Ogășanu put it in 9-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Sydney FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
