Valério Donatello was left in no man's land by his defense there! Camilo Gisbert kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Turgut Zor to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clóvis Quirino in the 52nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Turgut Zor in the 56th minute of the match. In the 57th match minute, Queluzito was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matías de Senna to maneuver through the defense. Daniel Zorita kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. In the 63rd minute of the match Erasmo Moreno shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Matías de Senna hit a great ball. 87 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Clóvis Quirino came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 88th match minute, Queluzito was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roque Bembe to maneuver through the defense. Ecuador were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
