Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. Joel Gaona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johannes Isaksson having to interfere. After 9 played minutes Comanche EC got a freekick which was hit by Sidney Vidal. 12 minutes into the match, Comanche EC's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Johannes Isaksson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lautaro Mancebo took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Johannes Isaksson. Johannes Isaksson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After having played for 22 minutes, Alberto Tafalla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alberto Tafalla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from García Cuervas, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Johannes Isaksson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Mancebo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Luca Zorita hit a great ball. In the 37thth minute of the game Joel Gaona who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Comanche EC's Johannes Isaksson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luca Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Johannes Isaksson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luca Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. After 45 played minutes Comanche EC got a freekick which was hit by Eliseu Saraiva. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

With an all-out effort, Mexico's Johannes Isaksson threw himself towards the right post 53 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joel Gaona, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Johannes Isaksson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Johannes Isaksson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 55th minute of play. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Alberto Tafalla hit a great ball. Lautaro Mancebo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Johannes Isaksson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 65 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when García Cuervas came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Johannes Isaksson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 67th minute of play. In the 70th minute Witold Blochowiak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alberto Tafalla recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alberto Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Luca Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 81 minutes of play, Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Johannes Isaksson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Joel Gaona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johannes Isaksson having to interfere. Facundo Cadaval was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 93 minutes into the match. Ediberto Abreu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Mexico walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
