After 26 played minutes Karen FC got a freekick which was hit by Rolando Estevez. Ma Yong Jun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 32nd minute, Rolando Estevez reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Julio Vera. The goal made the score 2-0. In the 35th minute, Felix Montenegro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ma Yong Jun breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Slawomir Majak's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Slawomir Majak in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet as Slawomir Majak kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Julio Vera. That made the score 3-0 in the 40 minute of play. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Slawomir Majak made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute Slawomir Majak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oskar Sandell in the 56th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 68th minute of play forced Karen FC's goalkeeper Ma Yong Jun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 69 minutes Karen FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Rickard Lövkvist almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. In the 95th match minute, Karen FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arvin Svanberg to maneuver through the defense. Many of Ecuador's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ecuador may have spent more time on the ball, but Karen FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
