The supporters of C.A.JORGOVAN booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Montenegro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gonzalo Hoya in the 17th minute. Artemio Domenech took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Artemio Domenech tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. 37 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Artemio Domenech narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 39 minutes into the match, C.A.JORGOVAN's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Artemio Domenech reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gervasio Bermund couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Antonio Arias hit a great ball. Ecuador were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
