The supporters of Peru booed when PP Plessydask was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artemio Lastur didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 18 played minutes, Peru's Luz Tejedor shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jan Abrahamsson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Peru reached it. Jan Abrahamsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luz Tejedor, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Peru were awarded a corner in the 48th minute after PP Plessydask's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luz Tejedor took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Eliseo Mina managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Julian Murillo made the kick off in the second half. After 63 minutes of play, PP Plessydask's Bertil Lundberg made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rolando Noboa was left in no man's land by his defense there! PP Plessydask's Edgar Marques was substituted for Bertil Lundberg. PP Plessydask's Palle Pottenstein was substituted for Hjalmar Haegg. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind PP Plessydask's goalkeeper Jan Abrahamsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 75th minute Luz Tejedor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan Abrahamsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Yakut Deveci hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. In the 85th minute, Palle Pottenstein got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Palle Pottenstein in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rolando Noboa saved Peru from getting behind. Antonio Tenorio struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Jan Abrahamsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peru. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
