All Stars Gent's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. After a rather tough play, All Stars Gent's Jesucristo Van Meenen got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. The supporters of Ecuador booed when All Stars Gent was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jannes Gramet didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eser Şemsi made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Didier Beekman charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Didier Beekman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eser Şemsi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Jesucristo Van Meenen kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Eser Şemsi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 64th minute of the match. After some careless play in the All Stars Gent defense, Luis Andino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eser Şemsi. The All Stars Gent fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eser Şemsi should have stopped the shot. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Esterilla Van Meenen, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Brend Van Laeck managed to get in a good position for a shot. All Stars Gent's supporters rose to their feet, but Brend Van Laeck was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
