When Pedro Donatello came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Inter de São Paulo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Donatello couldn't finish the play. In the 93rd minute, Gerson Coelho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Inter de São Paulo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 9-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Inter de São Paulo fully deserved thier win.
