The audience was convinced that Boy Bonk's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcos Cotilla was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. In the 9th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Miralles to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enrique Prata in the 10th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Berganza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enrique Prata in the 51st minute of play.
