With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Gottfrid Brenner tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of LA VIOLA booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Montenegro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Albert Rutledge sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Through an outstanding action, after 15 minutes, Julio Vera successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Felix Montes hit a great ball. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. LA VIOLA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Svante Bäckman in the 24th minute. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Felix Martinsson having to make a save. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Albert Rutledge in the 33rd minute of the match. 35 minutes into the match, LA VIOLA's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Felix Martinsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in LA VIOLA's zone, Felix Montenegro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Felix Martinsson came out of the goal and Felix Montenegro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Felix Martinsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Felix Martinsson came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Albert Rutledge came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the LA VIOLA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Albert Rutledge couldn't finish the play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Felix Martinsson in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Felix Martinsson firmly grabbed it by the left post. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Felix Martinsson made a huge save. In the 64th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. LA VIOLA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. LA VIOLA's Felix Martinsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save LA VIOLA from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Luis Andino got a free kick in the 70th minute. Felix Martinsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 75th minute of play. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felix Martinsson having to interfere. In the 80th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felix Martinsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osvald Uter in the 81st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Agustín Saelices managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Agustín Saelices was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Felix Martinsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Svante Bäckman in the 86th minute of play. In the 87th minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Felix Martinsson. LA VIOLA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 90th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felix Martinsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Albert Rutledge in the 94th minute of the match. After 95 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Svante Bäckman who took care of the corner kick. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than LA VIOLA.
