Talleres's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Sancho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauricio Manuelo in the 93rd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Tab in the 95th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 96th minute of play forced Talleres's goalkeeper 王竞耀 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Tab in the 97th minute of play. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Talleres had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
