In the 16th minute, Gervasio Valiente hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 18th minute Pepe Sand shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Honduras defense, Pepe Sand kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lautaro Navarro. The Honduras fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lautaro Navarro should have stopped the shot. Pepe Sand sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Pepe Sand could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Lautaro Navarro made a huge save. Valentín Carvallo made in the 30th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Edmundo Espiga immediately put the ball in play. The supporters of Honduras booed when La Maquina Retorna 【LBF】 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabio Rosati didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 37thth minute of the game Pepe Sand who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Honduras's Lautaro Navarro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Pepe Sand's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lautaro Navarro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Paulinho Dybala made a kick off. The referee felt a red card was in order, 52 minutes into the game, when Esteban Carvallo put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Honduras fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 52nd minute. Penalty! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hakkı Sezgen during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Hakkı Sezgen hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Lautaro Navarro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pepe Sand's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. After having played for 62 minutes, Pepe Sand managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. La Maquina Retorna 【LBF】's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pepe Sand was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lautaro Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabio Rosati, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 65th minute Pepe Sand shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pepe Sand in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lautaro Navarro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 73rd minute, Paulinho Dybala ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lautaro Navarro was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-0. 77 minutes into the match, La Maquina Retorna 【LBF】's Pepe Sand sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lautaro Navarro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 79 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Paulinho Dybala came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
