Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) 5 minutes into the game, Kaj-Åke Kaká was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Congo Bongo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave El Salvador the free kick. The supporters of El Salvador booed when Congo Bongo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kaj-Åke Kaká didn't get a good kick on the ball. Damaso Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 8th minute, Joshua Curbelo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ricardo Zorita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Damaso Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. After 14 played minutes Congo Bongo got a freekick which was hit by Damaso Sancho. Moises Fernandino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Máté Márton having to interfere. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Joshua Curbelo hit a great ball. Ricardo Zorita didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Damaso Sancho went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. After 22 minutes of play, Congo Bongo's Damaso Sancho made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ricardo Zorita was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 27th minute, Damaso Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Ricardo Zorita. El Salvador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Ricardo Zorita stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Damaso Sancho's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. Damaso Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Ricardo Zorita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 35th play minute Damaso Sancho came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Ricardo Zorita. 5-0. Froilan Iaki could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Ricardo Zorita made a huge save. An unexpected shot in the 46th minute by Damaso Sancho got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Damaso Sancho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ricardo Zorita stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Damaso Sancho's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. Damaso Sancho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ricardo Zorita having to make a save. In the 54th minute, Moises Fernandino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ricardo Zorita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damaso Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 56 minutes, Moises Fernandino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. El Salvador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Moises Fernandino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Congo Bongo's Arnaldo Oidor was substituted for Damaso Sancho. If Arnaldo Oidor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 62nd minute, El Salvador's Marco Tamayo seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Marco Tamayo the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of El Salvador protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Marco Tamayo had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 62nd minute, one of El Salvador:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for El Salvador. In the 72nd minute Froilan Iaki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Zorita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joshua Curbelo made in the 80th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Abram Luque immediately put the ball in play. If Arnaldo Oidor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ricardo Zorita stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arnaldo Oidor's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arnaldo Oidor in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ricardo Zorita saved El Salvador from getting behind. After 91 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Joshua Curbelo. 94 minutes into the game, Froilan Iaki cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-0. Ricardo Zorita was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
