Panama's Marcos Cotilla proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Panama from getting a goal against them. Isidoro Sarmiento kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. In the 15th match minute, Jaru-Uaru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Franklin Bertassi to maneuver through the defense. Abraham Alguacil recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abraham Alguacil in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Frederico Zonta saved Jaru-Uaru from getting behind. In the 21st minute Humberto Urbano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Panama booed when Jaru-Uaru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Humberto Urbano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th minute Panama were awarded a corner. Abraham Alguacil went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Abraham Alguacil almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Jaru-Uaru's Frederico Zonta did a great save. After 36 minutes, Ian de Queirós mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Jaru-Uaru and the Panama players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 36 played minutes Jaru-Uaru got a freekick which was hit by Ian de Queirós. Frederico Zonta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isidoro Sarmiento in the 37th minute of the match. Humberto Urbano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Panama were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

53 minutes into the match, Jaru-Uaru's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Berganza came free, but Frederico Zonta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abraham Alguacil couldn't finish the play. Danilo Paulista kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. 74 minutes into the match, Jaru-Uaru's goal looked a bit too open when Isidoro Sarmiento came free, but Frederico Zonta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dagoberto Prestes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Jaru-Uaru's Danilo Paulista got a free kick in the 77th minute. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Tomas Berganza hit a great ball. In the 87th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isidoro Sarmiento to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 90th minute of play forced Jaru-Uaru's goalkeeper Frederico Zonta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Jaru-Uaru's goalkeeper Frederico Zonta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the match was over Panama could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Jaru-Uaru throughout the match.
