Candelaria FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. Wieslaw Bielejewski kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. Daniel Zorita who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 52ndth minute tested the skills of Danilo Testa when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Arnaldo Marquez took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Danilo Testa firmly grabbed it by the left post. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danilo Testa having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Candelaria FC's Wieslaw Bielejewski got a free kick in the 67th minute. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Camilo Gisbert hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Candelaria FC's Danilo Testa got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Despite being the better team, Ecuador failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
