Felix Montenegro kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. In the 18th minute, Joe Herring left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Valencia C.F. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 29th minute, Yuan Wei Han made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. A very good chance. Jerry Lodge showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 36th minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Valencia C.F.'s Joe Herring shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 3-2 in the ordered_time% minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joe Herring in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joe Herring, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Valencia C.F. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joe Herring didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 81st minute, Joe Herring left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. Luis Andino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jerry Lodge read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Valencia C.F. made a substitution.
