Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 17 played minutes Zlatan sucks got a freekick which was hit by Sven-Ove Holmgren. In the 18thth minute of the game Cristian Sancho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Zlatan sucks's Edgar Bjursell was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sune Bergdal was extremely unlucky when he, in the 20th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sune Bergdal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl-Oskar Strömberg in the 51st minute of play. After 55 played minutes Zlatan sucks got a freekick which was hit by Sven-Ove Holmgren. The crowd rose to their feet as Cristian Sancho kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Edgar Bjursell. That made the score 2-1 in the 57 minute of play. With a little luck, Zlatan sucks's Edgar Bjursell got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. 66 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edgar Bjursell narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sune Bergdal's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. In the 91st match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Andino to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sune Bergdal in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Zlatan sucks players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
