After 11 played minutes Samsunspor got a freekick which was hit by Kingsley Schindler. Mecnun Başer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Samsunspor's Recep Tayyip Değirmencioğlu got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Samsunspor getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Kingsley Schindler hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Samsunspor's zone, Hector Covarrubias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Müfit Tolgahan came out of the goal and Hector Covarrubias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Yağızhan Acıbadem blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jacobo Nores having to make a save. Jacobo Nores was out of position in the 40 minute of play, and Mecnun Başer capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Mecnun Başer really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Jaime Pardo made the kick off in the second half. When Mustafa Oğuz Gülle fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Samsunspor's protests and gave Mustafa Oğuz Gülle a yellow card for diving instead. After 55 played minutes Samsunspor got a freekick which was hit by Mustafa Oğuz Gülle. 59 minutes into the match, Paraguay's goal looked a bit too open when Recep Tayyip Değirmencioğlu came free, but Jacobo Nores reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 63 minutes into the game, Paraguay's Marco Romero nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jacobo Nores took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Recep Tayyip Değirmencioğlu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Iker Tafalla charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Iker Tafalla the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 91 minutes into the match, Paraguay's goal looked a bit too open when Recep Tayyip Değirmencioğlu came free, but Jacobo Nores reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Despite being the better team, Paraguay failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
