Joaquin Gayoso was out of position in the 12 minute of play, and Bass Dost capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Bass Dost really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Uruguay's defense didn't have a chance, in the 15th minute, when Bass Dost scored to the left of an out of position Joaquin Gayoso, making the score, 2-0. Francisco Seco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bass Dost in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joaquin Gayoso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 22nd minute, Bass Dost reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Joaquin Gayoso. The goal made the score 3-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gerson Cruzado during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Bass Dost blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joaquin Gayoso having to make a save. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bass Dost, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. 43 minutes into the match, Red Bull Magnus's Bass Dost sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joaquin Gayoso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Francisco Seco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
