With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hans-Jürgen Pötscher prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 14 minutes into the match, Programayin's Rosario Martel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lautaro Navarro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 16th minute, Rosario Martel ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lautaro Navarro was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Rosario Martel might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lautaro Navarro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rosario Martel ran back to his position shaking his head. Lautaro Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rosario Martel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sebastian Villa hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rosario Martel got free with Lautaro Navarro in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rosario Martel blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lautaro Navarro having to make a save. Lautaro Navarro made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Rosario Martel sent off a good shot on target. In the 38th minute, Rosario Martel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Programayin's Hamza Emin was substituted for Rosario Martel. Valentín Carvallo charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Valentín Carvallo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Valentín Carvallo kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Honduras's Valentín Carvallo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Antonio Florian, made in the 52nd minute of the game. 54 minutes into the match, Hamza Emin notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Honduras's Lautaro Navarro. Lautaro Navarro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Programayin booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valentín Carvallo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Hamza Emin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lautaro Navarro was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. Sergio Agüero ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sergio Agüero in the 70th minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 72 minutes, Huly Larrauri managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Programayin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Huly Larrauri was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lautaro Navarro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sergio Agüero went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. 83 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Sergio Agüero came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 88 played minutes Programayin got a freekick which was hit by Huly Larrauri. A collision led to Programayin getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Dadá Rossi hit a great ball. Lautaro Navarro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sergio Agüero went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. Honduras's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
