The supporters of Venezuela booed when FC Pepsi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hubert Ekerot didn't get a good kick on the ball. FC Pepsi's Paul Holmstedt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Costa in the 14th minute of play. After having played for 15 minutes, Joshua Sammut Castelletti managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Pepsi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joshua Sammut Castelletti was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Tomas Illescas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Paul Holmstedt was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Kurt Lundin tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 30th match minute, FC Pepsi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Archie Culver to maneuver through the defense. The FC Pepsi fans' excitement grew in the 32nd match minute when FC Pepsi's Joshua Sammut Castelletti looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joshua Sammut Castelletti got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 40 minutes into the game, Lv Yuan Kuan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, FC Pepsi's Ludvig Ahlroht got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Kurt Lundin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Illescas was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Jose Correa hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joshua Sammut Castelletti in the 54th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paul Holmstedt made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lv Yuan Kuan in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. FC Pepsi made a substitution. Kanu Kanu replaced Lv Yuan Kuan. Kanu Kanu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 83rd minute Joshua Sammut Castelletti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, FC Pepsi's Bruno Lucente got a free kick in the 84th minute. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kanu Kanu in the 87th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a free kick in the 89th minute. Kanu Kanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 93 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jonathan Venegas. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joshua Sammut Castelletti in the 96th minute of the match. FC Pepsi's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
