After a defensive mix-up in Paranhos Ariranha FC's zone, Jarell Hill stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilmar Soeiro came out of the goal and Jarell Hill tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 6 minutes into the game, Paranhos Ariranha FC's Nilton Alcântara nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Demonde Jacobson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. 11 minutes into the match, Paranhos Ariranha FC's goal looked a bit too open when Finlay Stair came free, but Gilmar Soeiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 14 minutes into the match, Jamaica's goal looked a bit too open when Raimundo de Sousa came free, but Demonde Jacobson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hamílton Barros hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Finlay Stair sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Romon Oliver received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Gilmar Soeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Jamaica's Demonde Jacobson got control of the ball when Nilton Alcântara tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Raimundo de Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Carlos Alberto de Amaral's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 26thth minute, Demonde Jacobson skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Gilmar Soeiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Finlay Stair, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carlos Alberto de Amaral could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Demonde Jacobson made a huge save. After 40 played minutes Paranhos Ariranha FC got a freekick which was hit by Hamílton Barros. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carlos Alberto de Amaral to make the kick off. When Romon Oliver came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Jamaica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Romon Oliver couldn't finish the play. In the 59th minute Finlay Stair shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilmar Soeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 66th minute, Finlay Stair left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Jamaica fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. 70 minutes into the game, Jamaica's Finlay Stair nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gilmar Soeiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Gilmar Soeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karlus Waugh, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. In the 86th match minute, Paranhos Ariranha FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evaristo Moreira to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karlus Waugh in the 87th minute of play forced Paranhos Ariranha FC's goalkeeper Gilmar Soeiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The long shot by Geroy Ascue in the 88th minute really tested Gilmar Soeiro's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After having played for 90 minutes, Finlay Stair managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jamaica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Finlay Stair was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Paranhos Ariranha FC's Nilton Alcântara got a free kick in the 96th minute. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
