The corner led Pogoń Szczecin's Cezary Jarocewicz to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Sebastião Xoxe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 10th minute of play. Ecuador's defense didn't have a chance, in the 12th minute, when Lucjan Adamowicz scored to the left of an out of position Julio Vera, making the score, 1-0. Darko Pančev took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. 21 minutes into the match, Pogoń Szczecin's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Sebastião Xoxe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 23rd minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastião Xoxe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucjan Adamowicz in the 24th minute of play. Sebastião Xoxe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sebastião Xoxe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Lucjan Adamowicz sent off a good shot on target. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Darko Pančev, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Darko Pančev in the 45th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

With a little luck, Pogoń Szczecin's Sebastião Xoxe got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Pogoń Szczecin's Lucjan Adamowicz in the 56th minute got a chance for a shot 56th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The supporters of Pogoń Szczecin booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agustín Saelices didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Norbert Major in the 68th minute of the match. In the 69th minute of the match Pogoń Szczecin got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ludomir Nieruchliwy ran over to the corner to take the kick. Pogoń Szczecin's Conrado Donzel was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucjan Adamowicz in the 71st minute of the match. Lucjan Adamowicz struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pogoń Szczecin. Norbert Major fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. If Darko Pančev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 89 minutes, Agustín Saelices managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Agustín Saelices was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 91st minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Pogoń Szczecin's Lucjan Adamowicz in the 93rd minute got a chance for a shot 93rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. Lucjan Adamowicz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Pogoń Szczecin support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
