The Pogoń Szczecin fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Luz Tejedor scored 1-1 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sebastião Xoxe, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, Peru's Rolando Noboa got control of the ball when Norbert Major tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Norbert Major, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The throw-in from Cezary Jarocewicz in the 37th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Alonso Berganza. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Norbert Major to make the kick off. Norbert Major sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 68th minute of the match Peru got a corner. Pogoń Szczecin's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. Peru's Joaquin Prats was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Sebastião Xoxe in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After a rather tough play, Pogoń Szczecin's Conrado Donzel got a free kick in the 69th minute. Sebastião Xoxe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pogoń Szczecin's goalkeeper Sebastião Xoxe, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 78th minute of the match, Luz Tejedor tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Sebastião Xoxe saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The supporters of Pogoń Szczecin booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alonso Berganza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. A collision led to Peru getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Eliseo Mina successfully managed to get himself past Pogoń Szczecin's defense and had a dream possibility and totally alone with Sebastião Xoxe everyone thought he would score, but the ball went just outside the top right corner. Peru were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
