After taking down the ball on Nova Iguaçu MZFC's corner Luiz Fábio de Medeiros fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Felipe Tajo quite easily take care of the ball. Mickaël Maris took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patricio Mannuel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ladislao Gerazan in the 22nd minute of play forced Monky FC's goalkeeper Felipe Tajo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Ladislao Gerazan got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Monky FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ladislao Gerazan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Patricio Mannuel to make the kick off. Mickaël Maris made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Håkan Wennersten in the 52nd minute of play. When Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Horaţiu Măcrinici in 63 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Felipe Tajo guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. With a little luck, Monky FC's Felipe Tajo got control of the ball when Ladislao Gerazan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Håkan Wennersten received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Mickaël Maris tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Mickaël Maris played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Denis Sein in the 81st minute of play. Manfredo Vale kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Monky FC's Eliseo Guillelmo got a free kick in the 88th minute. Felipe Tajo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Horaţiu Măcrinici, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. In the 95th minute Denis Sein shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mickaël Maris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Nova Iguaçu MZFC played a much better game than Monky FC and deserved their victory. The Monky FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
