The ball went over the crossbar instead. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernando Celipe in the 19th minute of play. Fernando Celipe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Marcos Cotilla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fernando Celipe in the 25th minute. After some careless play in the ARAKLISPOR defense, Isidoro Sarmiento kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aşık Tunçdağ. The ARAKLISPOR fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aşık Tunçdağ should have stopped the shot. 41 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Celipe came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of ARAKLISPOR booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matthew Garrido didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aşık Tunçdağ showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miguel Miralles, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

The audience was convinced that Fernando Celipe's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcos Cotilla was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. After 62 minutes, Fernando Celipe made it 3-1 with a short kick to the right side. Panama's Marcos Cotilla tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Fernando Celipe might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcos Cotilla. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fernando Celipe ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 79th minute Fernando Celipe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aşık Tunçdağ made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isidoro Sarmiento in the 80th minute of play. But to his dismay, Mehmet Efe Uzbay quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fernando Celipe in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcos Cotilla saved Panama from getting behind.
