Dante Lacasa came out and tried to block the shot, but Marcus Ekblom slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 9th minute. 13 minutes had been played when some careless play by Los Frogos's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when Haldun Bilen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christoffer Mårtensson in the 18th minute of the match. In the 21st minute Christoffer Mårtensson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mattias Jansson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 25th minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Haldun Bilen. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Christoffer Mårtensson in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dante Lacasa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mattias Jansson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 27th minute of the match. In the 30th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mattias Jansson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mexico's Luca Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Mattias Jansson in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Facundo Cadaval kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Haldun Bilen in the 38th minute of play. Joel Gaona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Mattias Jansson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Los Frogos's Mattias Jansson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 41st minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Christoffer Mårtensson came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 43rd minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mattias Jansson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 47th minute of play forced Los Frogos's goalkeeper Mattias Jansson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Christoffer Mårtensson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A sloppy throw-in by Haldun Bilen in the 52nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Mexico's Luca Zorita. Zhuo Jian Wei kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. 56 minutes into the match, Los Frogos's goalkeeper Mattias Jansson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lautaro Mancebo. Mattias Jansson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 57th minute. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Los Frogos's goalkeeper Mattias Jansson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lautaro Mancebo's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Mattias Jansson firmly grabbed it by the left post. Mattias Jansson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 66th minute, Mexico's Joel Gaona dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. Los Frogos's Joseph Johansson was substituted for Christian Vallin. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christoffer Mårtensson, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Mattias Jansson made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 85th minute of play forced Los Frogos's goalkeeper Mattias Jansson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 88th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. Los Frogos's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Luca Zorita heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. After a rather tough play, Los Frogos's Roy Broberg got a free kick in the 90th minute. When Alberto Tafalla came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Tafalla couldn't finish the play.
