Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Daniel Zorita kicked off to start the match. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abel de Godoi in the 2nd minute of the match. In the 9th minute, Luis Andino made a precise shot to the right of Abelardo Maranhense. Olivedos's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 16 minutes into the match, Olivedos's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Abelardo Maranhense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 19th minute Abel de Godoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abelardo Maranhense came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 29th minute, Gonzalo Parraga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Sancho in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Abelardo Maranhense saved Olivedos from getting behind. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abel de Godoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 36 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Olivedos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rômulo Custódio didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Olivedos defense, Luis Andino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Abelardo Maranhense. The Olivedos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Abelardo Maranhense should have stopped the shot. Cássio Ferraz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Abel de Godoi to strike the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Cássio Ferraz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cássio Ferraz in the 65th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 66 minutes into the game, Rômulo Custódio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Olivedos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. In the 67th match minute, Olivedos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rômulo Custódio to maneuver through the defense. Cássio Ferraz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 77 minutes into the match, Olivedos's goalkeeper Abelardo Maranhense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Ecuador's Agustín Saelices was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Abelardo Maranhense in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 79 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Abelardo Maranhense made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-4. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Olivedos's Abel de Godoi. But to his dismay, Abel de Godoi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-4. Abelardo Maranhense made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 92nd minute. 95 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Abel de Godoi came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
