A nice corner shot did that Fabian Arenaza got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Lautaro Navarro quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Honduras's Esteban Carvallo managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Zenon Damazki in the 22 minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edmundo Espiga in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anders Larsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lukasz Fafinski blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lautaro Navarro having to make a save. Ezequiel Padro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Romeo Cresenciano was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 43 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Club Atletico Fenix fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 42nd minute. Penalty! Club Atletico Fenix:s Anders Larsson showed great skill when he stopped Edmundo Espiga:s penalty. In the 45th minute, Aaron Hibai hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Club Atletico Fenix's Zenon Damazki got a free kick in the 46th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Club Atletico Fenix's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cecilio Seber was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Edmundo Espiga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Anders Larsson was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. Lautaro Navarro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
