In the 17th minute, Luís Paulo Nogueira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The New Loser FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. 25 minutes into the match, Curacao's goalkeeper Bruno Barrett had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luís Paulo Nogueira. Bruno Barrett took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Paulo Nogueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 35th minute, Cássio Britto reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Bruno Barrett. The goal made the score 7-0. In the 39th minute, Cássio Britto made a precise shot to the right of Bruno Barrett. Curacao's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-0. Bruno Barrett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Paulo Nogueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Eliseu Negri didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Stanley Wallace went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 8-1 was the resulting score. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 8-1.

Curacao's Bruno Barrett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Paulo Nogueira in the 55th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Curacao's Charles Cox got a free kick in the 57th minute. In the 60th minute, Cássio Britto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. Bruno Barrett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Virgílio Diniz took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bruno Barrett. Bruno Barrett dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 10-1. In the 69th minute, Rocco Owen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bruno Barrett stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luís Paulo Nogueira's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. In the 72nd minute, Virgílio Diniz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bruno Barrett was frozen by the shot and now it was 11-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Paulo Nogueira in the 75th minute of play forced Curacao's goalkeeper Bruno Barrett to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee ignored Curacao's protests and gave Stanley Wallace a yellow card for diving instead. In the 86th match minute, Curacao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stanley Wallace to maneuver through the defense. In the 87th minute Luís Paulo Nogueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Barrett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andrea Shevchenko might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bruno Barrett. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The audience was convinced that Luís Paulo Nogueira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bruno Barrett was relentless in the 89th minute of the game.
