Abdulvahit Berksan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Petter Falck having to interfere. After 5 played minutes Hertha Göteborg got a freekick which was hit by Jens-Åke Aleberg. A collision led to ENDERSON getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Ertunç Ungur hit a great ball. In the 17th minute of the match Frans Torstensson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bayındır Mehmet Tekindağ showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Ertunç Ungur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, ENDERSON's Ertunç Ungur got a free kick in the 26th minute. Petter Falck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kurtuluş İmren, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. After having played for 32 minutes, Alvar Jönsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hertha Göteborg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alvar Jönsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jens-Åke Aleberg hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Osvald Asserlindh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Bayındır Mehmet Tekindağ tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. John Bergman kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Jens-Åke Aleberg charged in rather forcefully in the 48th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jens-Åke Aleberg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Hertha Göteborg getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Jens-Åke Aleberg hit a great ball. A hard shot by Aykutalp Şahin from long distance, 49 minutes into the match, got Petter Falck's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alvar Jönsson to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Kurtuluş İmren ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Petter Falck was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. In the 59th minute Kurtuluş İmren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petter Falck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kurtuluş İmren in the 67th minute of play forced Hertha Göteborg's goalkeeper Petter Falck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Alvar Jönsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hertha Göteborg's supporters rose to their feet, but Alvar Jönsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bayındır Mehmet Tekindağ breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Abdulvahit Berksan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alvar Jönsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bayındır Mehmet Tekindağ having to interfere. After some careless play in the Hertha Göteborg defense, Abdulvahit Berksan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Petter Falck. The Hertha Göteborg fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Petter Falck should have stopped the shot. 96 minutes into the game, Hertha Göteborg's Jens-Åke Aleberg nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bayındır Mehmet Tekindağ made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
