Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Willie McVurich started the match with the kick off. If Peter Wållander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Petter Falck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Willie McVurich in the 9th minute of the match. After 11 played minutes Hertha Göteborg got a freekick which was hit by Ingemar Byström. Hertha Göteborg's Peter Wållander got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Joe Bontine's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 18thth minute, Petter Falck skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ronnie Wallace during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 24 played minutes Ryde got a freekick which was hit by Ronnie Wallace. Peter Wållander might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Quentin Coulthart. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Peter Wållander ran back to his position shaking his head. Alvar Jönsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Quentin Coulthart having to interfere. Joe Bontine in the 35thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Petter Falck, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. With an all-out effort, Ryde's Petter Falck threw himself towards the right post 36 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Willie McVurich, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 37 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Hertha Göteborg! Ryde's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by George McGugan in the 40th minute. When Ryde's Willie McVurich in the 41st minute got a chance for a shot 41st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hertha Göteborg's goalie prevented a goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Peter Wållander was the one to do the kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Ryde's goal looked a bit too open when Alvar Jönsson came free, but Quentin Coulthart reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joe Bontine fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Petter Falck having to interfere. The referee gave Ryde a penalty, 63 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by George McGugan, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Hertha Göteborg's Petter Falck. 3-0. Petter Falck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Willie McVurich, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Alvar Jönsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Quentin Coulthart having to interfere. In the 76th minute, Jens-Åke Aleberg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Quentin Coulthart was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. After 80 played minutes Ryde got a freekick which was hit by Tyler Stark. Frans Torstensson was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 81st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 87th match minute, Hertha Göteborg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jimmie Kjellman to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Hertha Göteborg's zone, Joe Bontine stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Petter Falck came out of the goal and Joe Bontine tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Willie McVurich had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Petter Falck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Willie McVurich, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. For all the effort they put into the match, the Hertha Göteborg players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Ryde.
