Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Axel Tasis got the match started through his kick off. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pepito Santalla in the 3rd minute of play. Ladislao Bertran scored 1-0 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ladislao Bertran got free with Benito Sanz in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Ladislao Bertran kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Bartolo Nuno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Bartolo Nuno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ladislao Bertran received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 21 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Primitivo Fernanco narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 23 minutes into the game, Boca Juniors's Maximo Bordat nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Maximo Bordat took a quick shot and it went in 5-0 without a chance for Benito Sanz to make any attempt to save it. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Ladislao Bertran kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. 33 minutes into the game, Alexander Carballo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Boca Juniors the free kick. Alexander Carballo hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Orlando Lluques recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ladislao Bertran's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benito Sanz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. Benito Sanz stood somewhat misplaced when Bartolo Nuno came free in front of goal and shot 8-0 to the left of him in the 42 minute. 46 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's Bartolo Nuno sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benito Sanz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bartolo Nuno scored 9-0 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 9-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bartolo Nuno made a kick off. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 51st minute to try and stop a shot by Boca Juniors's Ladislao Bertran. But to his dismay, Ladislao Bertran quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 10-0. Alan Moruga hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bartolo Nuno in the 61st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pepito Santalla in the 64th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pepito Santalla scored 12-0 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Maximo Bordat kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. In the 75th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Moruga to maneuver through the defense. Ladislao Bertran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bartolo Nuno took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 15-0. Orlando Lluques fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Abel Carballo hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. 87 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Bartolo Nuno came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 92 minutes of play, Boca Juniors's Pepito Santalla made it 17-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bartolo Nuno in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. Boca Juniors walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
