An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 6th minute of play forced S.C.PAULISTA's goalkeeper Gerrit Cronen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Isidoro Sarmiento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gerrit Cronen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 9th minute of play. César Eger kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. S.C.PAULISTA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jorge Neto in the 17th minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Vivaldo Campidelis heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. If Tomas Berganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gerrit Cronen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Berganza in the 28th minute of the match. Marcos Cotilla didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from César Eger went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonidas Orange in the 34th minute of play.

The wind increased when Leonidas Orange made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind S.C.PAULISTA's goalkeeper Gerrit Cronen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonidas Orange in the 55th minute of the match. In the 57th minute of the match S.C.PAULISTA got a corner. Panama's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jorge Neto ran over to the corner to take the kick. Felipe Ros thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Marcos Cotilla, a very annoying self made goal in the 57th minute which led to 2-1. Gerrit Cronen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abraham Alguacil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 69th minute, Matthew Garrido hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcos Cotilla came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by S.C.PAULISTA's César Eger. But to his dismay, César Eger quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. After 75 minutes of play, S.C.PAULISTA's Leonidas Orange made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marcos Cotilla was left in no man's land by his defense there! Miguel Miralles hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. When Abraham Alguacil came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Panama fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abraham Alguacil couldn't finish the play. 91 minutes into the match, S.C.PAULISTA's goalkeeper Gerrit Cronen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Isidoro Sarmiento. Gerrit Cronen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 92nd minute. Panama's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
