In the 3rd minute Alfred Elvins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 4 minutes into the match, MaLe FC's goal looked a bit too open when Miguel Miralles came free, but Joel Alén reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an all-out effort, MaLe FC's Marcos Cotilla threw himself towards the right post 7 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Umberto Nunes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Joel Alén showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Berganza in the 8th minute of the match. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arixo Urbiso in the 13th minute of play. In the 19th minute, MaLe FC's Mats Myr seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Mats Myr the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of MaLe FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Mats Myr had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The supporters of Panama booed when MaLe FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mats Myr didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in MaLe FC's zone, Abraham Alguacil stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joel Alén came out of the goal and Abraham Alguacil tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arixo Urbiso got free with Marcos Cotilla in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 23 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Umberto Nunes came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Isidoro Sarmiento hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 27th minute of play forced MaLe FC's goalkeeper Joel Alén to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 37 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Aaron Barrios. MaLe FC's Ante Rebić couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 38th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Panama. After 47 minutes, Arixo Urbiso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MaLe FC and the Panama players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 47 played minutes MaLe FC got a freekick which was hit by Arixo Urbiso. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
52 minutes into the game, Panama's Abraham Alguacil nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joel Alén made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Tomas Berganza kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Joel Alén. That made the score 0-2 in the 54 minute of play. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arixo Urbiso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jose Carita made in the 62nd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Alex Cambeiro however managed to control. 63 minutes into the match, MaLe FC's goalkeeper Joel Alén had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Isidoro Sarmiento. After 63 played minutes MaLe FC got a freekick which was hit by Arixo Urbiso. 65 minutes into the game, Tomas Berganza recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Joel Alén. Tomas Berganza showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. Joel Alén took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dylan Sarmiento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joel Alén made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Isidoro Sarmiento sent off a good shot on target. Miguel Miralles really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. Joel Alén showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isidoro Sarmiento in the 93rd minute of the match. Joel Alén made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Isidoro Sarmiento sent off a good shot on target. Panama's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
