Espinillo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amado Savier was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 16th minute, Espinillo's Placido Patxi dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. When Valentino Ferrant fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Salvador's protests and gave Valentino Ferrant a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Espinillo booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valentino Ferrant didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Placido Patxi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Espinillo's supporters rose to their feet, but Placido Patxi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricardo Zorita breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 30th minute, Ezequiel Onbera ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ricardo Zorita was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Espinillo were awarded a corner in the 41th minute after El Salvador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ezequiel Onbera took the corner. After taking down the ball on Espinillo's corner Ezequiel Onbera fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ricardo Zorita quite easily take care of the ball. Ricardo Zorita had great luck who in the 42ndth minute grab hold of the ball when Arnulfo Sotil from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Ricardo Zorita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Placido Patxi in the 43rd minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Moises Fernandino stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in El Salvador's zone, Amado Savier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal and Amado Savier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Placido Patxi in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ricardo Zorita saved El Salvador from getting behind. 59 minutes into the game, Placido Patxi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Ricardo Zorita was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Placido Patxi in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ricardo Zorita prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 76 played minutes, Espinillo's Ezequiel Onbera shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Espinillo reached it. Placido Patxi struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Ricardo Zorita didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Espinillo. In the 78th minute Placido Patxi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Zorita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Amado Savier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 87 played minutes Espinillo got a freekick which was hit by Angelino Boni. Suárez Yasin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Moises Fernandino in the 89th minute. In the 90thth minute of the game Placido Patxi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
