Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of GoooooooooooooooooooooooL booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Narcis Răcănel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Medárd Horváth's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. After 75 played minutes GoooooooooooooooooooooooL got a freekick which was hit by Marko Ruskov. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in GoooooooooooooooooooooooL reached it. When the match had gone on for 85 minutes, Marko Ruskov put it in 5-1 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. Pankracy Siwy struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GoooooooooooooooooooooooL. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The GoooooooooooooooooooooooL fans cheered their team off the field, for while Ecuador had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
