In the 3rd minute, Medárd Horváth left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The GoooooooooooooooooooooooL fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Medárd Horváth in the 5th minute of the match. Bruno Beldad's late challenge caught a GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bruno Beldad helped the player get up and apologised. Bruno Beldad kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's Răzvan Ioanițiu quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Arturo Carvallo, made in the 9th minute of the game. Medárd Horváth's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joaquin Gayoso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. Joaquin Gayoso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Medárd Horváth's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. In the 13th minute Francisco Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Schmeichel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 14 minutes into the match, GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's goal looked a bit too open when Maximiliano Escribano came free, but Peter Schmeichel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. GoooooooooooooooooooooooL were awarded a corner in the 23th minute after Uruguay's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Hortêncio Coutinho took the corner. 28 minutes in the game, Narcis Răcănel fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Joaquin Gayoso having to interfere. Joaquin Gayoso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Medárd Horváth's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. Medárd Horváth took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joaquin Gayoso. Joaquin Gayoso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. 40 minutes into the match, GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's Medárd Horváth sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joaquin Gayoso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 41st minute, Uruguay's Kevin Carballal seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Kevin Carballal the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Uruguay protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Kevin Carballal had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Jaime Cazalla charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jaime Cazalla the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of GoooooooooooooooooooooooL booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaime Cazalla didn't get a good kick on the ball. GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's Medárd Horváth got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Medárd Horváth to make the kick off. The GoooooooooooooooooooooooL fans' excitement grew in the 51st match minute when GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's Medárd Horváth looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Medárd Horváth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 59th minute Medárd Horváth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Medárd Horváth scored 8-0 in the 61st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joaquin Gayoso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. GoooooooooooooooooooooooL made a substitution. Pankracy Siwy replaced Paulino Marin. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 70th minute of play forced GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peter Schmeichel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 72nd minute of the match. After 75 played minutes GoooooooooooooooooooooooL got a freekick which was hit by Pankracy Siwy. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marko Ruskov in the 81st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marko Ruskov in the 85th minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marko Ruskov took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joaquin Gayoso. Joaquin Gayoso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 11-0. In the 95th minute, Marko Ruskov ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joaquin Gayoso was frozen by the shot and now it was 12-0. Uruguay's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
