Furkan Erbay's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant was a little too slow when Furkan Erbay got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 27th minute. The score was now 3-0. After 30 played minutes the Red Devils got a freekick which was hit by Selahaddin Yeler. Sören Glanselius took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 34th match minute, the Red Devils was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tobias Saboya to maneuver through the defense. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Furkan Erbay made a kick off. When Furkan Erbay came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the the Red Devils fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Furkan Erbay couldn't finish the play. The supporters of the Red Devils booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Furkan Erbay went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 5-1 was the resulting score. the Red Devils's Furkan Erbay got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Sören Glanselius tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 78 minutes into the game, the Red Devils's Furkan Erbay nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot.
