The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Guillermo Fontirroig's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mauro Cunha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. If Mariano Lacasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Bladi in the 11th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, Chile's Mariano Lacasa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mauro Cunha narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 17th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mauro Cunha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Bladi in the 23rd minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th minute Sabadim Harammes PRD were awarded a corner. Abel Castelo Branco went to the cornerflag to take it. After 26 minutes of play, Chile's Mariano Lacasa made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mariano Lacasa made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Sabadim Harammes PRD's zone, Mariano Lacasa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mauro Cunha came out of the goal and Mariano Lacasa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mauro Cunha made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Mariano Lacasa sent off a good shot on target. Mauro Cunha made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 57th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eder Lopes in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Thiago Pliego prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 67 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Eder Lopes came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Mariano Lacasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Sabadim Harammes PRD's Mauro Cunha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Sabadim Harammes PRD from getting a goal against them. Mariano Bladi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Lacasa got free with Mauro Cunha in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ionel Bălăiță in the 97th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Chile eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
