An unexpectedly hard shot by Jürgen Trittin in the 12th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 13th minute of the match Kattvik kings got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Şenel Zeval ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Şenel Zeval got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jonathan Ferrant quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 14 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Long Zhan Quan came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jürgen Trittin in the 18th minute of play. After 21 minutes of play, Kattvik kings's Şenel Zeval made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! John Bratt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jürgen Trittin in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 32nd minute Jürgen Trittin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. John Bratt succeeded in the game's 37th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. The long shot by Reine Kinnman in the 40th minute really tested Jonathan Ferrant's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. John Bratt's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jonathan Ferrant firmly grabbed it by the left post. 46 minutes into the game, John Bratt cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Illescas was the one to do the kick off. In the 56th minute, Kurt Lövgren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers John Bratt in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. In the 63rd minute, Jürgen Trittin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal.
