Pär Löfdahl tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 10 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pär Löfdahl narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 13th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pär Löfdahl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcus Lagerberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. A nice corner shot did that Jon Waller got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Pär Löfdahl showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Montenegro in the 29th minute of the match. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 36 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Martin Olsman came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. AZAT MARD FC's Paulo Skochev was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The supporters of Ecuador booed when AZAT MARD FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Karl-Erik Hellsing didn't get a good kick on the ball.
