Pedro Dios fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Zorita having to interfere. 20 minutes into the match, Moises Fernandino notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of FLAMENGO San Sebastian's Angelo Fresnos. Angelo Fresnos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Angelo Fresnos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Moises Fernandino in the 26th minute of the match. In the 28th minute, Per Åström reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ricardo Zorita. The goal made the score 1-1. The supporters of FLAMENGO San Sebastian booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Rubio didn't get a good kick on the ball. FLAMENGO San Sebastian's Tibo Mampaerts was substituted for Faruk Nafiz Arman. In the 36th minute, Moises Fernandino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as FLAMENGO San Sebastian's Emiliano Pancho slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ricardo Zorita. That made the score 3-1 after 38 minutes of play. FLAMENGO San Sebastian's Emiliano Pancho got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

After some careless play in the El Salvador defense, Emiliano Pancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricardo Zorita. The El Salvador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricardo Zorita should have stopped the shot. After 57 minutes of play, FLAMENGO San Sebastian's Emiliano Pancho made it 5-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ricardo Zorita was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luis Rubio hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. In the 63rd minute, Emiliano Pancho made a precise shot to the right of Ricardo Zorita. El Salvador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-1. Emiliano Pancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricardo Zorita read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pedro Dios in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ricardo Zorita prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 71 minutes into the game, Luis Rubio threw the ball into play from the sideline. FLAMENGO San Sebastian's Thomas Vermaelen quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Luis Rubio hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Ricardo Zorita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emiliano Pancho in the 75th minute of play. In the 76th minute FLAMENGO San Sebastian were awarded a corner. Caitano Galego went to the cornerflag to take it. Emiliano Pancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ricardo Zorita. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Emiliano Pancho ran back to his position shaking his head. El Salvador's Mateo Leguizamo suffered a concussion in the 86th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Caitano Galego during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. El Salvador made a substitution. Thiago Zorita replaced Mateo Leguizamo. In the 89th minute, Caitano Galego hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thiago Zorita hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. There was no doubt that FLAMENGO San Sebastian were the better team. FLAMENGO San Sebastian's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
