Charles Sarmento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hector Covarrubias in the 27th minute of the match. Falcão Marquess short, quick shot in the 28thth minute got Jacobo Nores to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Jacobo Nores stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Falcão Marques's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. After a rather tough play, Paraguay's Jaime Pardo got a free kick in the 35th minute. In the 40th minute, Paraguay's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Falcão Marques fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Through an outstanding action, after 47 minutes, Jacobo Nores successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.
