The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Francisco Seco was the one to do the kick off. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cemal Özgun, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cemal Özgun in the 54th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Güntekin Uskan in the 74th minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Güntekin Uskan in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joaquin Gayoso saved Uruguay from getting behind. Jaime Cazalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cemal Özgun in the 85th minute of play. The throw-in from Ahmet Bülent Uluçkan in the 88th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Uruguay's Alberto Gisbert. The audience was convinced that Güntekin Uskan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joaquin Gayoso was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. Uruguay's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
